You’ve tried everything. What if the answer isn’t medical?

What if the way to stop coping and start healing for good lies in working with your brain, not another medical doctor?

I’m Carolyn Evans, LISW-CP — a psychotherapist who specializes in chronic pain. I’ve trained with Howard Schubiner, MD, the leading expert in mind-body medicine and the treatment of chronic pain. I was also in Alan Gordon, LCSW’s founding Pain Reprocessing Therapy cohort. I’ve helped hundreds of clients solve their chronic pain. Not cope with it. Not diminish it. Solve it for good, so they can get on with their lives.

In this 8-module course, you’ll learn how to use Pain Reprocessing Therapy, neuroscience education, and Internal Family Systems together to solve your chronic pain. You’ll learn how to help your brain feel safe again — so your nervous system can stop sounding the false alarm that you’re experiencing as pain.

How I came to this work

I know what it’s like to live inside a body that hurts — and to not understand why.

For more than two years, I lived with debilitating chronic pelvic pain. You should know I’m someone who solves problems with the focus of a trained assassin, but I couldn’t solve my chronic pain. That’s because I was looking for help in all the wrong places. So the pain consumed everything. My sleep. My relationships. My sense of self.

I did what most people in chronic pain do. I went to one medical doctor after another. When that didn’t work, I went to a 30th-generation Chinese Medicine doctor who prescribed muddy herb tea and told me to give up coffee, sugar, and alcohol. I saw a medical intuitive who scanned my body and announced he could remove a systemic infection “energetically.”, which was a nice idea, but my pain persisted. I saw a naturopath who put me on way too many rounds of antibiotics that decimated my microbiome. I complied because I was sleep-deprived, depressed, and desperate.

Then, near the end of a meeting with a nutritionist, she casually mentioned a mind-body approach called Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

What I learned changed everything: chronic pain — whether pelvic pain, back pain, migraines, or fibromyalgia — often resists treatment because while it feels like it’s coming from the body, it’s actually being created by misfiring pain circuits in the brain. PRT uses specific psychological techniques to rewire those circuits and break the chronic pain cycle.

I trained in Alan Gordon, LCSW’s founding cohort — Alan is the founder of Pain Reprocessing Therapy and the author of The Way Out. I went on to train with Dr. Howard Schubiner, the internal medicine physician and leading expert on mind-body medicine Within six weeks of using PRT on myself, my pelvic pain vanished. It hasn’t returned.

I’ve spent the years since helping hundreds of clients heal from all kinds of chronic pain — the brain is remarkably creative in the symptoms it produces and the ways it tries to keep you safe. As a licensed clinical social worker based in Charleston, SC, I work with chronic pain clients in person and across the country.

I built Solve Chronic Pain™ because the work that gave me my life back shouldn’t be locked behind a $3,000 practitioner training or a year of private therapy. It should be in your hands.

Your Before and After Transition

Before After
Waking up dreading the day before it begins Understanding exactly why your brain created this pain
Cycling through doctors, scans, and diagnoses that lead nowhere but frustration Having a proven, neuroscience-backed path forward
Wondering if this pain is what you have to live with Feeling sensations without fear — because you know what they mean (and don’t mean)
Canceling plans, missing out, shrinking your world Moving your body again, making plans, showing up fully
Feeling like your body has betrayed you Trusting yourself and your healing process
Trying everything — and still hurting Living proof that your brain can change — because it did, and now you are pain free

Is this you?

You've been told that you're broken, that this chronic pain you live with can only be managed, that it's impossible to solve.

  • You’ve done the physical therapy. The injections. Maybe even surgery. And still — the pain persists or eventually comes back.

  • Or maybe you’ve been told there’s physically nothing wrong with you, which makes no sense because you continue to hurt.

  • Or maybe you’ve been told it’s all in your head, which made you question your own experience.

This course is for you if

  • You’ve seen lots of doctors, but your chronic pain persists

  • Your pain moves, shifts, or shows up in new places

  • Stress, emotions, or certain situations seem to make it worse

  • You’ve been told “everything looks normal” but you still suffer

  • You’re a high achiever, caretaker, or someone who holds a lot together for other people

  • You’re ready for a real explanation — and a real path out of pain

This course is NOT for you if

  • You're looking for a quick fix or a passive program. This work asks for your active engagement, and the results come from doing the practices over time, not just consuming the content.

  • You have not yet ruled out serious structural causes for your pain. This course is for chronic pain that has persisted despite medical workup. If you have not been evaluated by a physician, please start there.

  • You're not open to the idea that your brain plays a role in your pain. This work is grounded in neuroscience, but it requires a willingness to consider a major paradigm shift you may not have encountered before.

  • You're in active crisis or experiencing severe untreated mental health symptoms.

  • You're hoping to convince a skeptical partner, parent, or doctor that this works. Take this course for yourself, when you're ready. Trying to prove something to someone else is a setup for frustration.

Why Solve Chronic Pain™ is different

Most chronic pain courses teach you how to cope. This course teaches you how to stop coping and start healing your chronic pain.

The Three Foundational Pillars

01

Neuroscience education

Understanding how your brain learned to create pain is the first step toward unlearning it.

02

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)

The gold-standard protocol from Alan Gordon, LCSW, founder of Pain Reprocessing Therapy.

03

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Parts work woven throughout, with three full dedicated modules.

Lots of chronic pain has no structural cause. You read that right — no structural cause.

It’s neuroplastic — created by the brain — and is therefore completely solvable.

In 2022, the Boulder Back Pain Study — co-authored by my mentor Dr. Howard Schubiner and Alan Gordon, LCSW — was published in JAMA Psychiatry. It showed that 66% of chronic back pain patients were pain-free or nearly pain-free after Pain Reprocessing Therapy. Most were still pain-free a year later.

This isn’t alternative medicine. It’s peer-reviewed neuroscience.

It’s not just a course — it’s a complete practice system

Most online courses hand you videos and hope you remember the content. Solve Chronic Pain gives you the video lessons, yes — but also a complete library of practice tools you can hold in your hands:

Nine guided audio practices you can use anywhere — in the car, on a bad day, or at 3 a.m.
Thirteen downloadable PDFs, including one-page pocket guides: The Morning Check-In, Somatic Tracking Framework, and the Flare Protocol.
Reflection journals for every module with open prompts and answer keys you can actually write in.
Lifetime access, allowing you to return whenever you need a refresher on your own pace.

From a therapist’s heart, not a physician’s desk

The closest similar course is brilliant and comes from a physician’s clinical perspective. This course includes evidence-based emotional work that comes from a licensed therapist’s heart and warmth—and the lived experience of a chronic pain survivor who has solved her own pain and walked hundreds of clients through solving theirs.

"Three decades of migraines. Eight weeks of this course. I haven’t had one since October."

Robert K., 58 Chronic Migraines • Student

"The Updating Your Parts practice in Module 6 broke me open. Meeting the part of me that was so scared and telling her she could rest — that’s when my body started letting go."

Jennifer R., 49 Fibromyalgia • Course Student

"I hiked six miles last weekend. I cried at the top. I hadn’t hiked in four years."

Megan T., 42 Chronic Low Back Pain • Client

"Module 1 alone reframed everything. By Module 4, I was doing somatic tracking with my coffee and noticing my shoulder pain dial down for the first time in 11 years."

Mark D., 56 Chronic Neck & Shoulder Pain

"Carolyn understood me in a way medical doctors never did. I finally found something that actually works."

Lisa M. Fibromyalgia • Private Practice

"I went from debilitating vestibular migraines to living a normal life again. Working with Carolyn completely changed my relationship with pain."

Katie L. Trial Attorney • Client

"My life had gotten so small. I avoided anything that might flare my back. Now I’ve been pain free for two years and counting."

Chris F. Film Producer • Client

"I came in skeptical. I left with the Flare Protocol taped to my fridge. The pain that ran my life is no longer the loudest voice in the room."

Sarah P., 38 Tension Headaches • Student

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this for people with “real” physical pain, or just psychological pain?

Both — and this distinction matters less than you’d think. Neuroplastic pain is real, physical pain. It’s created by the brain and nervous system, not by tissue damage. That doesn’t make it less real — it makes it more treatable.

  • Do I need to have a diagnosis to take this course?

No. This course is designed for anyone who has been living with persistent pain that hasn’t fully responded to traditional medical treatment. If you’ve ruled out serious structural causes and are still hurting, this is for you.

  • What if I’m already working with a therapist or doctor?

This course is designed to complement your existing care, not replace it. Many clients find it deepens and accelerates the work they’re already doing. That said, if you have a surgery date on the books, I recommend postponing it until after you’ve completed the course. Most clients cancel planned surgeries after engaging with this work.

  • How much time does this take?

Each module is designed to be completed at your own pace. Most people move through one module per week, spending about 1–2 hours on lessons, practices, and journaling. This work involves a major paradigm shift in how you understand your pain. It’s best not to rush your brain as it integrates this new way forward.

What is solving your chronic pain worth to you?

A single session with a chronic pain specialist costs $175–$300.

Most people I see have spent $5,000 to $15,000 over the years searching for answers — across specialists, scans, PT, injections, supplements. Solve Chronic Pain gives you an 8- module, evidence-based complete framework — with 8 teaching videos, nine guided audio practices and thirteen downloadable resources — for $397.

You’ve been carrying this long enough.

You don’t have to figure it out all alone, and you don’t have to settle for managing pain for the rest of your life. Solve Chronic Pain was built for this exact moment — when you’re ready to stop coping and start healing.

Ready to heal your pain? Then let’s retrain your brain.
